Audi Q5 - Audi Q5 owner Review - Sarah kingsley

Hi all

So as some will know i picked the Audi Q5 back in feb and put an order in which was suppose to be ready by october this year was my delivery date. However my dealer phoned me to say they had a old test drive car up for sale if i was interested. Its a S line Q5 , 1 year old, 5,000miles on the clock , in daytona grey , petrol auto. Anyway i went down and test drove it and asked a bunch of questions and in the end i brought it after doing further thinking. That was back in april , i have owned the car a month now and i love it so far, its comfty , very very quite there is no wind noise and hardley any road noise even at motorway speeds , tyre noise i heard a little but i changed the tyres to Michelin tyres and now i hardley hear any tyre noise.

I havent used the infotainment system that much as im not that techy so cant really comment on that. Driving is overall fantastic , on motorways its a breeze and relaxed and very comfortable to drive but then on country lanes i can have some fun going round corners. I never get bored driving the Q5.

Handling is good and its comfty even over rough roads or speed bumps.

Interiour quality is goid however since sitting in a friends jaguar F pace i have come to learn that the Q5 has a much superior interior quality to her jaguar. The Q5 just felt more solidly built and had better qulity matriels were the f pace felt more cheaper it did not feel like i was in a 50k car.

I know some say the look of audis are boring on the outside but that has never been an issue for me as how i see it is you spend 99% of your time in the car than looking at it.

The boot is a goid size and has proven very practical for my needs , i recently went down to hayes garden world and spent a lot on new garden furniture and was able to fit everything in. Im looking forward to going back at christmas now as hayes has some lovely christmas decorations.

Overall so far i love it and am so happy with my choice. I will update this thread in a few months time to let you know if i still love it and will be able to an even longer review once iv owned it long enough.

At this point in time i would 100% reccomened the Q5 if it suits your needs.

Keep us up to date on how ownership goes as you get used to it.

I saw a new Q8 today when picking my daughter up from school and whilst I'm not a fan of the Q7, the Q8 looks the part due to the lower roofline.

Thanks for the detailed review!

I went to my local Audi dealer to look at it. I have 3 children so need a car that can seat 5 comfortably and I found the back to be quite cramped. I love the car and I wish it could meet my requirements.

Looking at Honda CR-V now because it feels much more spacious at the back.

Audi would say that if you find the Q5 cramped, they have the Q7.

In between, in terms of size, are the VW Touareg and Porsche Cayenne - If Audi had made a SWB Q7 I'd have bought that instead of my VW Touareg - the Q7 is just too big for some.
