I am thinking about buying an Accord coupe. I am not sure however whether to go for the 2.0 or the 3.0. The 3.0 is 200bhp and 0-60 in about 8 secs which sound like fun.
However presumably the downside is worse fuel consumption (not too worried about this); higher servicing costs?; harder to sell in 3/4 years time??
Any other views? Is a V6 likely to be less smooth than the 4?

A V6 less smooth than a 4 cylinder? I should hope not. After moving to 6 cylinders (or indeed 5 :) ) you wouldn't want to return to 4!

4 or 5 years ago working for a small company I got a leased 2 litre Accord Saloon whilst my work colleague went for the Accord Coupe 3.0 V6. I was always happy with the performance and refinement of my 4 cylinder but there was a marked improvement in both when driving the V6.
My colleague used and abused the coupe for 3 years and 80K miles and needed nothing more than routine servicing and tyres. I stand to be corrected but I believe they were built in the US (compared to Swindon for the saloon) and I think the Honda badge was the only common component between them. The coupe was also more of a 'cruiser' rather than the peaky VTEC engines in the saloon and Preludes.
Can't help on the costs of running the thing because it was all part of the lease but for performance and refinement I can't see the 2 litre being a patch on the V6.

Possibly a bit late to the party, but one note of caution is that because the Accord coupe is only built in the US from parts imported from Japan, Insurance is high!

Local dealer had a V plate 2.0 Auto Accord Coupe for 6995 (no idea of mileage) in the newspaper on a a Friday - when I went to look on Saturday it wasn't there. Price was low for this - I began to wonder if it was a misprint and was maybe a Civic coupe?
Anyway, what sort of prices have you seen these at - they ain't pretty but they look roomy, well built, reliable and just the job for long distance journeys. I guess the 3.0 guzzles fuel though?
