Daihatsu Sirion 1.3 SE Automatic 2005 ('new shape) - Daihatsu Sirion: disabling reversing-beeper? - Losta Risin'

Hello, All,

I must disable the reversing-beep that sounds repeatedly inside the cabin of a just-acquired 2005 Daihatsu Sirion 1.3 SE Automatic: the then new-shape model with the boxy body.

Can some Sirion-savvy soul tell me which fuse to remove or wire to pull, please? Failing that, would anyone recommend a former Daihatsu garage or independent? I'm in the upper Home Counties but will travel.

Thank you,

LR.

If you are saying this vehicle has parking sensors just find where the buzzer is and disconnect it or if there isn't a connecter just cut the wire.

Regards

Hello,

Thanks for replyng but no, it's the beeping that sounds on Reverse being selected.

(The object-behind-you sound is in addition to it.)

I just want to know if there's a fuse or wire to pull, and which!

Yes I know what you mean. Really annoying. Seems to be fitted to a few Jap cars. Seen this on a Toyota. There may be a fuse for the reverse lights that can be pulled ,,but you may lose other functions. The beeper is likely to be behind the dash.

Thanks, elekie&a/c doctor,

I didn't mean to whinge in my initial post (so didn't mention the following) but serious injury has left me with a cluster of types of hearing-damage. One is hyperacusis: simply, many sounds cause me pain. (They needn't be in the least bit loud.) Unfortunately, the reversing-beeper of the Daihatsu Sirion happens to strike just the wrong note.

Long before injury I'd test-driven this model. The reversing-beeper hadn't bothered me in the slightest then so I'd forgotten about it. Years later, other life-circumstances meant that I had to buy the car blind (and deaf!) so it was a surprise and disappointment that the beeper should now cause me such difficulty. I must silence it. Thanks for the tip about where the unit is likely to be. I'll have a friend try to locate it by ear: I can't even attempt it.

LR.
