Let's have a few:

FORD - Found on rubbish dump
FIAT - Fix it again, Tony
LOTUS - Lots of trouble, ususally serious
PORSCHE - Poor Old Rich Sod Cannot Have Everything
BMW - Buyers Mostly Winkers (or something like that)
VAUXHALL - Vehicles are Useless, Xeroxes have a longer lifespan
LADA - Lurid and Damn Appalling

Anyone for any more?

BSA again - B****y Sore A**e.

Not an acronym, but Frantic B*****d for Francis Barnett I liked - or was that the owner.

Actually, BSA B series singles were very strong, and there were lots of lovely Gold Star bits to put in them. Mind you, I had one really explode - 7 1/2 k was too much.

Daihatsu : Don?t ask if honesty and truth seem unnecessary

Tata. Trouble and teething abound.

LDV: lets drive vindictively.

Volvo: Very occasionally letting vans out.

Mazda: Monkey and zebra dancing around.

Lancia : Let all nissans crash in anger.

Skoda : Shopping kart often driven arrogantly.

Austin : Atrociously underdeveloped so testing is needed.

Nissan: Nothing seems simple and natural.

Peugeot: pick every ugly girl except on Tuesday.

Mercedes: Mostly engineered rediculously cheaply every day except Sunday.

The BOAC quote should have been, referring to their pilots "Boys overseas after cr*mp*t". (Official version given to me by a British Midland Airways stewardess).
