A lamppost has been left in the middle of a new school access road, they have even painted markings beside it.

It was probably cheaper than stopping all work until the lampost could be removed.

Fantastic!, like it says, you couldn't make it up!.

Reminds me of the late 90's when an Aberdeenshire town situated on the main Aberdeen to Inverness road had a bypass made to route the heavy traffic including many big trucks away from the centre of town. There was a public footbridge about half way along which, unfortunately, did not have enough clearance for the taller trucks to get under. So they had to divert them back through the town till it was replaced with a taller one!.

Welcome to the world of mediocrity.

Every part of the job contracted-out to private companies. The marking company will get paid as they have finished what they were contraced to do. Then get paid again when the remedial work has been done.

Crazy.

No one with any sense (or ownership), to say to the contarctors concerned not to proceed with the works until offending lamp post has been shifted.

My neighbour lives in a house owned by a housing association. She had a new k*itchen fitted and the tiler arrived before the plasterer. He still managed to re-tile the walls (I bet that job looked great)!
