Either way it should be reported (and the report recorded so you have proof of doing your part) so Nissan can do what they think is necessary, if it was an injector one going full flow can crack or hole a piston which won't do the liner/bore much good either, so depending on how long you intend to keep the car the sooner a record is established and the reason for this diagnosed the better.
