Bye bye Subaru diesels - BMW Enthusiast

Their fuel economy was always poor anyway. Most likely reason is that they couldn't compete with other manufacturers on economy and price.

The problem for Subaru UK is that they only have one seller - the Forester - the main seller in the Forester was the diesel.

As they only sell around 3,000-3,500 cars per year I would think they have problems keeping up even 3,000.

Subaru have a range of models but they all start quite a bit higher in price & the PCP deals look expensive than most other makes - all cars have 4WD, all cars have eyesight but stiil pricey - excludes BRZ coupe which is RWD & really a Toyota with badges & a Subaru engine.

They are priced to high by the importer, that is Subaru’s issue.

Taking a short to medium term loss or break even to get some market penetration would be more beneficial in the long term.

I still meet people who didn’t realise Subaru still sold cars in the UK

I wouldn't be surprised if Subaru pulled out of the UK entirely in the near future.

Or is it a Toyota designed Subaru built in Subaru's factory where Toyota bumpers and badges are added to it?
