JLR - Another electronic security fiasco - expat

Land Rovers have a system to do remote control over some functions. When they are sold secondhand the dealer is supposed to disconnect this so that the previous owner no longer has this control. Needless to say it doesn't get done.

I wonder what's involved in linking a car? Could I hire LR products and gradually build up a set of them in my app and create merry hell for the hire company?

Of course, if I did that it could be traced back to the phone used, I guess.
