Rover 620 gsi 1993 - Turns over but no start, - KCSRenault

Hello,

I recently have been having problems with a rover 620 which has been left in the garage for a while. The car turns over but will not start, if fuel is sprayed into air intake it runs on this but not on its own fuel. I have checked pulse singlans on injectors, this seems okay, pump primes, and fuel filter is new, the injectors have been cleaned by a local specialist but for some reason the car will not put fuel through injectors. Is there anything else likely to be wrong. Fuel pressure seems okay to, fuel right up to rail. Fuel tank has been drained and fresh fuel added. The main realy has been checked for cracks in solders, however none where present. However this may be the problem, but ansure.

Anyone have any ideas, the local mechanic, has given up on the car, so its just trying to get the car going.

Lift the injectors and fuel rail out of the manifold to check if you have any fuel spray under cranking. You say there is fuel pressure, but how much? Needs to be around 2.5 Bar.

Does the fuel pump run when the engine is cranking? This model may have an inertia switch, especially if the fuel pump relay is not tachometric. It'll be most likely located behind the centre console or near the spare wheel in the boot. Make sure it hasn't tripped.
