Maybe I have a blind spot with these so-called personalised plates, but No.1 would have been totally meaningless to me without the prompt. (Now I look at it, it's still pretty meaningless.)
No. 2 has a special 8 number? But it has a 1 as well. (Does that not mess up the "lucky number"? I.e., 18, not 8.)
No. 3 is off-target as well. The er... celebrity's name is Bieber. BE18BER isn't close, although marginally better than No.1.
Whether anyone is idiotic enough to want to spend money on these plates for some obscure reason I don't know. I wouldn't, but maybe I'm not representative of general opinion.
I've only ever seen one that produced a reaction in me and that was PEN15*. I don't think I'd want it on my car, though.
*I looked this one up. Apparently it's worth over £100,000.
