The battery light comes on when I am above 3000revs but goes off again if I drop below. There is also a whirring sort of sound when I accelerate or rev the car but the acceleration is as normal. I'm wondering if this could be the belt slipping or badly worn making the noise and the light come on or possibly the clutch pulley on the alternator. Any ideas would be gratefully received!
