A5/B5 replaced A1/B1 years ago, basically the same spec but included long life.
C3 is a diesel spec for cars with DPF and is long life.
But most oils cover both diesel and petrol specs.
What does your handbook say? its the best place to look.
A- was petrol and B- was diesel, both are effectively obsolete and gradually being replaced by C- covering all cars and light vans, but the number part isn't a straight switch.
C3 is needed for diesels with DPF but increasingly being specified for cars, some of which are getting DPFs.
