Vauxhall astra vxr - Warrenty - iclegg

I Baught a car from a dealer and the gear box broke I went to a garage and got a quote of 1400 the dealer asked for an invoice in my name to claim it back off the warrenty. The dealer said the warrenty will pay the garage direct.

How do I not end up with a bill of 1400 at the end of this when it goes pear shaped because this dealer is dodgy.
