05 place C220 cdi - Automatic gear problem - Nana440

My car is locked in drive mode. Can not shift the gear and can not start the engine. What should I do?

In the car handbook there will be a page on getting round your problem.

The handbook will give info for emergency release if the shifter is stuck in P park. The fact yours is stuck in D drive is a different problem.Could be a mechanical issue with the shift cable or gearbox linkage.
