Well,
It arrived today. All shiny and smooth oozing its Germanic efficiency both in form and function. 330d trailered away for it to be delivered to my BiL at the end of the week (well his wife anyway).
So far so good. Engine feels very tight, but response is still pretty good....may have to wait awhile for this to develop a "personality" but I am a patient man. Take it for a run tonight, alone, to see what makes it tick...may grow on me.

"All shiny and smooth oozing its Germanic efficiency ...."
"Nice shiny computer due to be delivered soon ...."
Sounds like everything is pretty shiny chez PU!
Only joking - enjoy the new car (and the new computer - someone out there will know the answer to your interesting query on the "I have a question thread".
Good wishes and thanks for the recent steer on commenting on cases yet to come to trial.

Did you finally establish the bhp of your new engine??? - Let us know when you find out. I suspect it could still be the 193 brake unit, which is no slouch anyway. - I am sure you will not be disappointed, once it is run in.!!!

Must have depreciated by at least £3k by now
|
Not his problem, it's a lease car anyway.
|
Fantastic deal - lease payments that don't take into account the cost of depreciation.
|
Sorry - shiny was obviously the word of the day !
Don't really worry about the depreciation - its built into the lease payments as you say. One of the few benefits of a leased company car....
At the moment there is no "Wow" factor in the car, it starts, it goes, it stops. Hopefully this will develop over next few thousand miles in the way the 330 did.
|
Sorry - I was only revealing my envy! Sounds fantastic. Do keep us posted!

I have a 530d estate, which replaced a 325tds. I don't want to put a downer on the car but I am still waiting for this "Wow" factor after 28k miles.

BiL came back from his trip to the Gulf at the weekend. Needless to say he loves the 330d.
Had to do a 65 mile round trip tonight on business. The choice was the Cav which has been on mydriveway after its repair on Friday (must take it back tomorrow !) and the Beemer - guess which one I took. Yes the Cav. Makes you wonder why we hanker after the 30k status symbols.

A Cav is a status symbol. A Motoring icon.
CavV6 and cavWeb fan.

Every car is a status symbol; it's just that the status a car is symbolic of varies!
