Audi Q3 S Line Plus - Tyres/wheels - Fulham Phil

I have a Q3 S-line Plus. Comes with 19 inch wheels and I think smaller wheels would be quieter and more comfortable. Should I go for 18 inch or 17 inch and will roadholding be compromised. Any experience of Michelin Cross Max? Any help much appreciated. Thanks

You'll need to find out what the smallest size rim diameter is recommended by Audi, it depends primarily on the size of the front brakes.

The S-Line Plus may well have sports suspension which won't be helping comfort.

Speak to your insurers about cover, its a mod so could affect premium.

Speak to Audi as changing form factory spec could affect warranty.

Many VW models have a selection of wheel/tyre sizes that can be specified at order time - they also have an additional list of winter tyre sizes - my new Touareg came on 265/50 R19 but I'm fitting 235/65 R17 winter tyres as it's a listed option.

Audi may be similar - you do need to inform your insure but the better ones won't alter the premium if it's a manufacturer's recommended size.
