Nissan Qashqai 1.5 diesel - Nissan qashqai starting problems. - sailorboy06

My qashqai starts from cold runs 10 seconds then cuts out, leave it 15 minutes try again it will start again. Sometimes it is possible to get it to accelerate up beyond the cutout and then it will run all day. it started 7 days ago and is getting worse.

Is there a sensor which checks the fuel pressure for failsafe? if so where is it?

I don't know the car but in general diesel terms it could be air getting into the fuel line when standing. A blocked fuel filter can also give this problem. I assume its a common rail, they are very fussy about fuel pressure and anything that causes it to drop can prevent injection, possibly a leaky injector or faulty pressure regulator valve or sensor.

It could also be a stuck open EGR valve. Everyone suspects fuel when this kind of thing happens, but it's easy to forget that engines also need a good supply of clean oxygenated air to enable them to run. If your engine is pulling its exhaust gas back it will become choked and cut out.
