Vauxhall Vectra Diesel - Clutch and slave - bananas

Clutch has packed up and garage recommends I change the whole thing flywheell, clutch and slave which makes sense given the car is old and the job is big. Any opinions?

Thanks

Yes, it makes perfect sense.

Basically, most of the expense is in the amount of time it takes to strip and rebuild. To then not replace some of the parts is the ultimate in false economy.

You only need to change the flywheel if it is worn out, particularly if it is a dual mass flywheel, otherwise it is a waste of cash doing so.

As for the rest, if you are replacing the clutch (on this model) then always fit a new concentric slave cylinder whilst you are at it too. Failing to do so is likely to involve tears when the old one leaks or won't bleed up after the gearbox has been refitted.
