Was this a private sale or from a dealer?
If from a dealer, take it back for them to fix or reject it and get your money back.
Your problem is that whatever the dealer is willing to do, at least one 200 mile round trip is involved.
As you will find from many posts on here, second hand diesels which are out of manufacturer's guarantee are not recommended due to the many problems they may have (DPF, DMF, injectors, fuel pumps etc) .
You could be lucky, may just need a fuel filter change (but if so, why didn't the seller do this inexpensive fix first?)
