I have a Peugeot 308 sw eco automatic 1600 hdi (2012), that I have had from new. For the last two years, I have been experiencing an intermittant fault involving power loss when I have been pulling away. The car creeps forward for approx 2-3 seconds then takes off at normal speed.

Its 3 years old approx and its been doing it for 2 years. Why have you not taken it to the delaer to get it sorted under warranty.

Hi, the cars been back to peugeot a number of times for this problem, trouble is every time its gone back they cant find fault, and now the warranty is up!!

You logged the issue with Peugeot long before the warranty expired therefore the warranty still stands on the issue.

Did you not try a different garage?

Yes i have, just keep being fobbed off with 'no error comes up so no fault'

lost confidence in the car anymore , time to move it on i think!

You need to find a better dealer. There are good and bad ones. And its the bad ones who tell you rubbish like this that keep me and other independents in business!

Try telling the "bad" one that every Peugeot logs a fault code in two places in the BSI fault log and in the individual ECU for that part of the car that's playing up - even something as simple as a blown bulb - and maybe they should start there.

I get the feeling that some dealers just like to have the fault and the faulty part handed to them on a plate so they can just swap it out. They don't seem to have the time, inclination or patience to spend time with a car.

Another sign of a bad one is one who tells you that they need the car longer so it can "talk to Peugeot". A shiny authorised dealer logo and accredication does not make up for lack of experience.

I can't guarantee they'll do any better but there is an unofficial network of Peugeot owners with the diagnostic gear, and lots of experience using it, who may be able to help. Some are current and former mechanics, others just have several Pugs in the family. And they certainly don't charge for fault finding. Google "Peugeot Planet Map" to find the details.
