Citroen Xsara Picasso (2007) - Citroen Picasso Injector error - PeterWilson

My 2007 Picasso has done 120,000 miles. Every couple of months there is a problem with the oil. The mechanic says that due to the injectors possibly being faulty the oil container gets blocked and he needs to drain it and pour down some chemicals to unblock it each time. He says if the injectors are checked, and the faulty ones replaced, it should solve the problem.

Is this correct?

Also, another friend has told me that this is due to an engine design fault in this make and that even if I change the injectors they will again become defective in six months' time.

Is that right?

In other words: is changing the injectors worth spending money on?

What do they mean by "oil container is blocked"? The only oil container is the sump, if that needs draining "because of injectors" it sounds as if fuel is accumulating in the sump.

Mazda 6 diesels have had this but don't Citroens use Eolys additive for DPF regeneration instead of adding extra fuel?

That is assuming this is a diesel car, would seem less likely with petrol.

I'd ask this question on frenchcarforum.com - there's a good chance you'll reach more Picasso owners. What you're being told doesn't sound right to me either.
