hi iv got a vectra 1.9 cdti 120 on a 55 plate its a sxi model and i was just wondering if it has a dpf and how can i tell thanks

Hi,

I have a 2007 1.9 cdti SRi and it does NOT have a dpf (phew!) - some guy checked the id badge on the B pillar on the drivers side and said you can tell by the numbers - sadly I can't remember what they were but check this out www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?105717-Do-i-...2.

Anyhow my SRi has a nice shiny exhaust pipe which gets sooty when driven on a run (and needs cleaning) and it does smoke on start up - if it had a dpf that shouldn't happen. If you get someone to follow you and then boot it - a non dpf will guff a load of black smoke out - remember 10 years ago when reps all had PD Passats!

You could also try putting your reg into one of those motor factor sites and seeing if they sell a dpf for your car? You could also have a chat to your mot guy when it is up on the ramps for its test?

Vauxhalls fitment of DPF on Vectra-C was a bit variable - certainly the 2006 1.9CDTi 150 Estate has one - when it went bad at 90,000 miles we had a pattern part fitted but our trusted independent workshop had difficulties getting it to complete a regen cycle for about a month afterwards, despite changing both the DPF again and all the sensors - eventually sorted itself out though.
