Mondeo 2.0 tdci - Power loss - psg
Hi I'm after some advice if anyone can help I have a mondeo 2.0 tdci 2003 and I'm having trouble finding the cause of this problem. The engine is sweet as a nut however low revs there's no power upto the turbo which kicks in at 2500 rpm anything before this there's nothing any ideas. Thanks in advance. Sam

It could be the MAF (mass air flow sensor). It is usually situated just after the air filter box,in the pipe itself. Its a small box attached onto the pipe itself.

If it goes faulty then you will get symptoms as you describe.

Thanks for the reply I thought this originally however there is no maf sensor and no wiring anywhere in the engine bay and where is should be is the necessary screw holes etc but is blanked off like it's been like that from manufacture so I just assumed this model didn't have it would I be right in thinking that or has somebody gone to the effort of removing all the wiring etc thanks

I've just had a look on another forum and apparently some models didn't have a maf sensor and was something to do with the type of turbo so that explains there being no wiring to back up it up thanks
