Hello learned people.

I was hoping somebody could help me ID what model of car this brake light is from?

Unfortunately they crashed into my parked car overnight and didn’t leave their details, so I’m hoping to track them down if possible.
Any help much appreciated!

Adam

Please tell us how finding out what car the brake light came from is going to help you trace the car.

I would have to be a very rare car indeed to be of any help.

Sadly, as skidpan has said. Even if you found out what sort of car it was from, and found one in the local area that had a damaged brake light, that won't help you, as you have no PROOF that it was the car involved.

They could just as easily claim that you hit their car and drove off. Again, they have as much 'proof' as you do.

Look at the lense very carfully for the partnumber and the date marking.

Enter the number into ggogle and search for which car it came from. I did this with a part left on the road after an accident and it turned out to be off a Merc who provided the model, year and colour. The car turned out to be local and made the mistake of the repairer ordering the part from the local Merc dealer.

They would not give me the VRM so I had to get the police involved who obtained the VRM and paid the owner a visit but no action was taken. The owner however did pay for the damage to the fence. Regards Peter
