Jaguar S-Type - Crankshaft Bearings - ApostleT

I am looking for assistance where I can import main big ends bearings for my Jaguar S - Type V8. The car details are as follows:

1999/7 JAGUAR S-Type GF-J01GA

CHASSIS NO.: SAJ-KC01F0XGL15841

TRANSMISSION: Automatic ENGINE CAPACITY: 3,990 CC.

Engine Number is GC - 9905190136.

Engine block Number is *NKHNH*BBAB* and *22222222*PPPPP*.

I havent enjoyed this car ever since I bought it from Japan 2 years ago. The jaguar dealer says we need 10k main big ends bearings because the crankshaft was worked on by the Engineers and it need the next size of bearings from the standards that it was usually on.

Please help.

Thank you so much for your response I have just written to them. I realise that I made a mistake on my enquiry. What I need are main crankshaft bearings which are thicker than the standards, and I am told we need 10k size.

Is there another car or different make which share the same engine components with my Jaguar with respect to the bearings?

I'm intrigued, surely the machine shop that has reground the crankshaft to -10 thou should have checked that there were bearing shells available in +10 thou?

You said you have imported the car from Japan which makes me think your not based in the UK.

In the motorcycle world, plain bearing shells for crank big-ends and mains are usually supplied by the manufacturer in several sizes to allow for regrinds / rebuilds.

If a Jaguar dealer cannot help, have a Google for 'Jaguar engine rebuild specialists' - loads of companies that specialist in the older 6- and 12-cylinder engines, I would have thought one of those would have an idea where to get new shells from.
