Can anyone offer their kind advice.

I drive a 2.0 petrol bora. The drivers footwell is saturated in water. I can see it running in behind the petals but don't know where it is coming in from outside the car. Some forums say the pollen filter can cause this problem but can it come from there and end up in the drivers side??

Are there drains for water coming off the windscreen. I really don't know where to go from here so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a million.

Yrs it can. If the filter cover has not been replaced properly or broken when replacing that will do it.

Take a look on the VW forums. My neighbour had the same problem. Call carparts4 less.

If you can see it running down the inside, chances are that your bulkhead is filled with water. Open bonnet and have a look at the rear compartment below the windscreen. The drain holes block up with leaves, and the water will overflow into the car.

Pollen filter housing seal as mentioned is another possibility.

Another leak point is through the inner door membrane. Make sure the drain holes at the bottom of the doors are unblocked. You will have to remove the inner door panels to check the actual membranes.

Many VAG cars are known for water leaks.

A few points here. The pollen filter and housing are on the passenger side.As above, check the plenum air intake drain channels. Also check the grommet where the bonnet release cable runs through the bulkhead. There are no plastic membranes behind the door cards.I have also seen water enter the car from under the rubber door shut seals, where they grip onto the body seam..Worth a look.

There are no plastic membranes behind the door cards.

Didn't know that. I assumed it was the same as the mk 1 Leon.

One less job to worry about!
