Ford Transit Jumbo - How much should I claim back - SKARGO

I bought from New a Ford Transit Jumbo in 2012 which has had various issues ever since. Within a month of buying the van I formally rejected it in writing both to the dealer and the finance compmany as not fit for purpose there was a strange whistling noise, the engine was full of rust and some other minor issues.

They inspected the problem and although they could not tell me what the whistling was assured me it would be covered under warrenty.

Approx 3 motnhs later the rear parking sensors would not work, the doors would not lock as I wanted them too, I am a multi-drop driver so wanted them to lock & unlock on ignition. I returned the van to the dealer again expecting them to fix these problems only for them to remove the rear step and then tell me I had been in an accident so parking sensors not covered, (it has never been in an accident) and that the locking could not be done. It took them two weeks to tell me this, by this time I complained to Ford and was assured that they would look into things and resolve these issues only for the staff at Ford to leave.

Next came a recall by Ford think it was the brakes and I again asked them to look at all the above and also the paintwork as it was flaking. Took it to a different dealer this time who advised that Ford told them it was down to my origional dealer even thought they knew I no longer wished to sully my hands with them so was caught between a rock and a hard place. Once again Ford assured me it was all on record and that they would cover my van if anything went wrong.

So you carry on unfortunatly in my line of work no van / no money so kept going although I made sure it was on record with the finance company as well as Ford.

In January, the engine finally blew a rocker, after only 65k in 30 months and a service every 10-15k becuase of the work. It was then I found out that depsite the promises made my warrenty was only until this May and not a lifetime 125k as per the Iveco warrenty the dealership promised to match and that Ford were not prepared to extend this despite their origional promises.

After a lot of arguing they have intimated they will offer a partial refund and I wonder what I should ask;

Van has and will never be right, given the strange noises coming from the engine I suspect it was not sealed correctly when manufactured hence the probelms.

I would like to say because of the breach of contract put me back into the posistion I was in prior to getting the van but I know given my continous use this may be easier said then done so any advise would be gratefully accepted.
