Sportage 1.6. C-max 1.0 125 Yeti 1.2 ix35 1.6 c-max 1.6 live mpg readout when cruise is on at 70mph - Golden321
looking to compare the above petrol engines when cruise is on at 70 mph, the live readout not looking for average.
Test drove petrol qashqai was showing 45mpg with cruise on at 70.
I do realise ix35 and sportage are same car.

Instantaneous MPG will vary even with cruise engaged, according to gradient and wind speed direction - comparing two cars also introduces minor speed difference, even using satnav GPS you might be checking one at 69.5 and the other at 70.5 which could make 5% fuel consumption difference.

I am assuming you are driving at 70 for a couple of miles and if you keep your eye on the live readout. I realise certain variables will affect mpg so will not be taking any replies as exact. In the qashqai i drove at 70 without cruise on and it showed live 34mpg most of the time and on the exact same piece of road with cruise on was showing 45mpg. As I havent used cruise before it was a shock to me but in since speaking to others it shouldnt have been! Thanks for your reply.

It's all meaningless... Depends on how you drive, the road, road conditions and traffic.

And how hard your foot is on teh acclerator. A skilled driver will obtain far better figures than an average one at teh same speeds.

Take extra urban less 10% as a guide.

Not to mention wind speed and direction, turbulence from passing cars, atmospheric pressure.

it is a quiet clear road, cruise is set to 70..
Not expecting any figures straight away but if any kind soul could help me by making a note of live mpg at 70 with cruise on for a couple of miles that would be great. Yes if you also want to tell me the temperature at the time, the wind speed and direction etc great.
