Toyota Corolla 2.0L D4-D T Spirit - 2005 - Problems with diesel? - Addinghamian

I'm thinking of buying the above which is relatively low mileage at around 70K and has had a recent cam belt change. I read about problems with diesels every week in the Honest John motoring section of the Telegraph on Saturday particularly re emissions, environmental and DPFs.

Should I have any concerns in that regards for this vehicle?

Not much of a motoring expert so would appreciate some advice.

HJ's ar by car breakdown will give you a reasonable feel for any ommon problems with this particualr car.

How many miles pa will you be likely to do and are regualr longish (60+miles) runs part your ordinary driving?

The biggest group enountering problems with diesels are (a) low mileage and (b) those who never let the hing get thourpughly warmed and stretched (latter is needed to 'regenenrate' a diesel particle filter if fitted.

That engine is very reliable. Cam belt changes are a must (you say it has been done).

30/40 urban/extra urban is typical..
