Volvo S60 - Opening/locking car using key fob - boldpot
Key fob not opening /locking car without being very close to car receiver. new batteries put in both key fobs but neither work properly.

Batteries were replaced by Volvo main dealer.fobs work sometimes but only after getting very close to the car receiver(top of windscreen). Volvo dealer has looked at car but appears to be unable to cure problem.i have now asked them to speak with Volvo technicians to try and get a cure.

I'd change the batteries again, before trying anything more expensive.

Buy a new set of Duracell batteries from a reputable outlet (such as Maplin) and make sure they are well within date.

Whilst in Maplin, buy a small tin of contact cleaner. Clean the boards and all contacts. With a small pair of fine nosed pliers make sure there is plenty of good contact at the battery

Before handling the boards or batteries thoroughly wash your hands with plain soap and dry. Wear vinyl gloves if you can.

Try that first.
