Hello,

I own a VW Golf 1.9 Tdi and recently the Emission warnining light came on (PD Engine), I took it to a local garage after running the diagnostic they informed me that the injector is faulty as well as the glo valve and it will take £700 to repair (with original VW parts). Just wanted to know if the cost the garage stated is correct? it sounds alot to me

Also the Garage told me that the EGR Valve is dirty and if they clean it may affect the new injector so they will not clean the EGR Valve now. Is this true? shall I have the EGR Valve cleaned as well or will it affect the new injector and will void the guarantee.

Hoping to get answer to my queries.

Personally I would do it myself using secondhand parts but if you can't, take it to a diesel specialist rather than a garage, they usually know what they are doing.
