Windows Live Mail (WLM) - Wardlows

I have recently moved to the above, using a Hotmail account. By and large it works quite well but security is a problem.

On selecting WLM on the desktop, the WLM screen appears and so does a log-in screen

stating "Sign in to Windows Live Mail", also automatically included is my e-mail address and a password box. Without entering a password, I can close the log-in box and go straight into WLM and begin e-mailing. This must be wrong.

Can anyone guide me as to how I can remove my automatically entered e-mail address and ensure that I must enter my password to provide the necessary security. My limited knowledge has been exhausted and I cannot see a way.

If I use the Outlook set up, I must enter both my e-mail and its associated password. the opposite to WLM.

Many thanks for any advice.

Outlook.com is the new name for Hotmail, it can be accessed via your web browser or the mail account added to a mail program.

MS Outlook as part of an MS Office suite is completely different/unconnected to outlook.com or Windows Live Mail (WLM)

WLM is supported on the MS Answers group
