VW Golf Plus 1.9 TDI - Cut out. won't restart - dipsomaniac

Car cut out and won't restart. Engine turns over but doesn't fire. RAC man got car to fire with easy start for a short time. fault codes logged for all 4 glowplugs 17055/6/7/8.

Can anyone help pinpoint problem?

There may be a glow plug fault logged, but this will not cause the engine to not run.More investigation required.

could be feeder pump in tank. will update once replaced

it was the feeder fuel pump. £123 from eurocarparts

Think i have same problem , golf plus 1.9 2005

Intermittant, happened twice in a couple of months ..?

Then ran ok

but mechanic said if there was pump in tank i would hear it when ignition is on, and if can,t hear pump then maybe there isn,t one on my model

Are there some of these cars without pump in tank?

I guess next time it happens i can look in fuel filter housing and see if diesel comes in when ignition first turned on?
