Toyota Auris - automatic - shahid1973
Thinking of buying Toyota Auris automatic for the wife. Budget is £5000 so looking at first generation (2007 to 2012) model heard this is MMT transmission one. Is this going to be problematic and costly with MMT version?

Many thanks in advance for any comments.

You've already posted the same question on Toyota Owners Club - where it has been confirmed that both petrol and diesel auto options for the first generation Auris is the MMT gearbox.

The Hybrid uses an ECVT

With the MMT gearbox, as with any automated manual, actuators can give problems and can be expensive to replace.

If you want a Toyota automatic without the MMT gearbox, your options are either the Auris Hybrid (which uses an ECVT), the IQ or the third generation Yaris from 2011 onwards - both of which use a CVT.
