There is very little money in sellling new cars, repairs is where the money is made. But as the report shows we have a free market and if one garage isn't good enough use another, or play main dealers against each other.

I am just pricing up a service on my B class. My dealer offers to price match, the Mercedes website allows you to get a quote from almost any main dealer. couldn't be easier to get a cheaper price.

Sadly my experience with main dealers tend to match that of the article. They will be friendly and cooperative until a warrnty claim is involved, then you're in a battle.

My most recent main dealer disappointment was with toyota but its not limited to them. Ironically a good few years back I had good customer services from a Ford dealership - which has changed hands. Good customer service doesn't pay the bills for all those coffee machines/playstations and plasmas in the waiting area!
