MK 3 Mondeo 2.0 Diesel Auto - Torque Converter and Brakes issues - aces_up1504

Hi,

I have recently bought a 05 Mondeo Auto 110K

I have noticed while towing I am getting a lot of shudder in the car ( like running over cattle grid/ or about to stall) when towing the car. It seems to be around 55mph, Revs just under 2000mph.

It happens occasionally when driving the car normally. When changing from D to P with the engine on, there is a vibration on the stick but nothing like the shudder when driving.

I am right in thinking this could be Torque Converter Shudder? Is there is way to confirm this?

Is it a serious issue?

secondly: Whilst driving there is an infrequent squeek from drivers side back wheel over the course of about 15mins it becomes a constant noise like a squeak/while which then last for quite a while then stops.

Is this a syptom of the rear caliper sticking? If so how much of a job is it to fix/ cost at a local garage?

First thing to do is check the oil level in the gearbox. Change the oil if you can do so yourself.

Sticky caliper? Could be .... certainly worth checking for.
could also be the pads are worn down
