Citroen C3 1.4 Auto 2002. KFV Engine - BSI Dead / ECU Replace - ScoBro

Hi,

I Bought a Citroen C3 2002 1.4 with head gasket failure. The battery wasn't too clever when I bought it but during my time of repair it went flat.

Fixed all the headgasket problem, went to start it, and it turns over but won't fire up.

I believe the reason for this is the BSI has either lost its way or has got damaged somehow, as I have no got no power to the dash at all, no lights, and irratic wipers.

I have Lexia, plugged it in but it says permanent fault to everything that is run from the BSI. E.g. Wipers, light, radio post, speedo etc.

i'm looking at replacing the bsi unit along with an ecu and transponder set, but my ECU is sagem. I can't find anywhere another Sagem ECU with the bsi and transponder set. But I can find bosch, Magneti Marelli and Siemens sets. The BSI and fuse board is Siemens.

I was just wondering if anyone knows If i can put a different make ECU on the car with the same connections?

Or anyone knows how to virginise and re code a BSI on lexia, beacuse I have no Idea.

Thanks In Advance

Did the engine run before headgasket repair?Does the Lexia actually say replace the bsi or is that a guess?

Yes it ran fine, all electrics worked no problem. Looks like water damage from looking at the bsi unit with the covers off. Lexia was saying no comms from bsi unit regarding the radio and air con.

I have mamaged to get hold of an ecu set including bsi from a manual c3. Plugged it all in but the dash comes on straight away even without the key in, and won't detect the gearbox. But I managed to prove that the air con unit still functions, along with the radio and the dash.

Thanks
