Mercedes W205 - TPMS and the law - Merlin1
Just bought the new Mercedes W205 C Class, from what I understand European law says all new cars must have Tyre Pressure Monitoring System fitted which this car has and it will become in 3 years an MOT fail if not working. So my question is if I fit a set of winter wheels & tyres do I need at present to have TPMS sensors fitted?

Mercedes system does not have sensors in the wheels, it works by monitoring the rolling radius of the wheels.

When you first fit winter tyres the system may throw up an error, but if the tyres are fitted correctly and at the correct pressure TPMS can be reset using the in car system.

I have found my system needs a reset when new tyres are fitted due to slight changes in rolling radius.

Beg to differ but that's the old system, now each wheel has a sensor. Similar to this www.amazon.co.uk/TPMS-I-Sensor-Mercedes-Pressure-m...2
