skoda superb tdi 06 engine code bss - loss of 12v feed to egr valve - Micky-BO

The 2 reference voltages on this skoda both come via the ecu 1x5v & 1x12v we have the 5v feed but no 12v feed we have checked the wiring from the egr valve to the corresponding ecu pin no which would point to a ecu problem. Does any 1 know if we can hook up a 12v feed via ign on would work. Any feed back greatly accepted Regards Micky -bo

I would be very careful about adding wires to ecu controlled systems .You could end up creating more problems.You say the wire from egr valve to ecu is intact but have you load tested the circuit?A rotten wire can show continuity but is not capable of carrying any current.

Have you disconnected the wire from the pin & checked for 12v from the ECU. These reference voltages are usually fairly high impedance & wont take much of a load to kill it.
