Interesting - full of errors - for me, it still shows Group entitlement using the old codes on my licence from the '70s but without conversion into current categories.

It could be real fun if I ever get stopped by the police!

At least I'll know to be prepared for a fight when my "lifetime" licence comes up for renewal in 3 years time.

Just checked this out, was spot on for me. I found it useful that restriction codes were explained too, didnt have to search elsewhere to find out what codes denoted.

I've been trying to get as many folk to do it as possible before I write to DVLA.

In a nutshell, some queries return the correct answer, and some don't. Anyone who took their car test prior to 19 Jan 2013 and doesn't have a bike licence shoul have group A but either limited to trikes, or note 79 which means the same thing.

As long as the respondant is over 21, it doesn't matter in the UK, but as the licence has to be readily converted into any other European licence, it matters.

So please, do it, and post your results.
