2010 Renault Laguna dCI Dynamique Tom Tom - Water Spillage under the car - Mahesh Nanji

Hi

I have a Renault Laguna dCI 2.0 Diesel. I noticed the other day that there was very slight spillage of water dripping from under the car.

The Air Con is OFF when I'm driving it, so i'm not sure what could be the reason for this.

Also, The outside temp in the dash monitor reads 17 degrees, however, on the the manual setting I have set as 21 degrees, but it still blows out cold air from vents.

Any advice much appreciated.

Mahesh

Examine the water if it's blue or pink then you have a leak and is an issue.

You may think that the aircon is off but...! I suggest, with the engine running you feel the silver type air con pipes to establish if one is very cold and one less cold which would indicate that it is working and therefore could well be where the condensate water is coming from.

17 degrees ambient in the sunshine could get the inside of the car quite hot, which could make the aircon run. Climate control in particular isn't always very transparent about what it's doing.

If it's coolant it will taste sweet. If it doesn't it is almost certainly condensate; or if the car has been standing in the rain earlier it could be rainwater draining out of doors, sills, or sunroof - my MX5 seems to collect run off from the hood somewhere which drains when the car points uphill.

Can't think of anything other possibilities.
