Hello,
So I got Toyota rav 4 2006 t180, which is high spec, with flatrun tyres (235 55 r18).Surprisingly it seems to be a problem to have flatrun tyres. Today Ive got puncture on one of my tyres and unfortunetely none of toyota branch is able to change the tyre, because lack of equipment. We spent about two hours in the toyota branch and they are unable to find any branch in the uk to change flat run tyre. After long discussion in the branch the advisors unable o find any solution, suggesting me to call all toyota branches to find out if they have facilities to change the tyre.
After such of expierence I've realised the flat run tyres is useless as its dificult to change it. After spending hours of research i found Watling tyres in tunbridge is able to change my flat run tyres for 50£ for each tyre. I was thinking about to fit general tyres. There few options which I personally consider and looking for expierenced advise.
Option 1
Change run flat tyre to normal one. (One question arises, if my tyre pressure sensor will be in working order, or I have error on the dashboard?)
option 2
Change new wheels with run flat tyres from the same model of the car (question is, due to changing new wheels, Ive presume my tyre pressure sensor wont be working. Do I need reprogramming the software, where it can be done, rougly price?)
option 3
Upgrade with new wheels of 235 55 r17, as other toyota rav 4 is driving similar size tyres.( hovever the branch wont recommend to change it as of my car specification, and once again question about the tyre pressure sensor, is it pass mot ?)
Please advise any other ideas and solutions are appreciated.
