Peugeot 306 - Peugeot/Clarion radio incorrect code - HoBgObLiN77

Hi everyone.

I had a 306, sold it a couple of years ago with all the paperwork etc, had put an MP3 head unit it and sold it with that. Anyway, I'll cut to the chase, I've got the original Clarion PU-2294A head unit and these seem to still be sought after on a well known auction site, so not having the paperwork for the car, and hence no radio code details I used various calculators and they all gave me the same code, but the stereo tells me it is incorrect.

My Dad had the car from new, and my brother and I have both also owned it for various periods, so it hasn't been out of the family, none of us has any recollection of having to have a new code and cannot understand why it's not accepting the code I calculated. I have contacted the garage where purchased and they no longer have the car on file as I didn't continue using them (not local to me, but close to parents)

Can anyone help me on this please? Is my only option now to pay someone to recode it thus reducing profit margin on potential sale?

Thanks in advance.

I think the later ones have to be coded with the Lexia/PP200 scanner, they do on the C5 anyway. Is it not working at all or bleeping at you?

Hi, thanks for your reply. For additional info, it was off a 2000(X) model.

When turned on, it displays ENTER CODE and then you get _ _ _ _.

Unfortunately, I've input the wrong code twice as I thought I had entered it wrong the first time, so re-entered and now 1 chance left.

Does that help at all?

Cheers

Obviously yours is still number coded then so you will need the correct number.

So that means off to the local car audio shop and nothing more I can do myself?

If thats the case then it might as well go for recycling.

There are plenty of places online where you can get the code. I'm sure there's a member of Peugeotforums.com who can get your code from the serial.

Or type "Peugeot Clarion code" into Ebay, there's a few traders who do it from 99p.

And if it doesn't work you can get your money back from Ebay.
