I have had this vehicle since new, and have just spent £500+ on repairs sills, carb cleaning and new gasket. and other parts.

However just recently the vehicle keeps cutting out when braking and will not idle. The vehicle repair service that I normally use cannot find the problem. He has stripped the Pierburg Carb and renewed the gaskets.

Servicing has been done etc. Battery is new. It starts well and quickly, but I consider it now too danfgerous to drive. Last repair done by Vw Agents on the Carb took over a month cost £300+ and broke dowmn within two weeks. No refund or apology.

Ihave tried the Vw Forum with no success, and thought I would try you before scrapping the cherished vehicle....or sell!!

Apart from buying a new Carb (which still might not solve the problem) is there anything else I can try??
