2007 VW Golf GT TDI 140 - High level LED brake light - GazKaz
Hi everyone!

I have a 2007 VW Golf GT TDI 140 and the high level LED brake light is not working correctly. It lights up when braking, but only just!

It's set into the top spoiler and there's no obvious way of removing it.

Has anyone else had this?

Many thanks in advance......

Gary.

There's this one on the Golf GTI forum.. You've got to break the old one to get it out! What kind of car building is this? Vorsprung durch dumbness?

Hi MrEckerslikefromRamsbottom

Yea, looks like I'm gonna have to get creative for this one. Dealers quoting over £400 because they have to remove the rear spoiler and in doing so this wrecks it. The screws holding the LED in place are only accessible from the back of the spoiler! What a stupid design!!

£49 for a new LED brake light from the main s******s. Guess what I'm doing next week?

Thanks again for your help!

What a joke that design is, but about right after having the unfortunate displeasure of fitting a new heater matrix to a Seat.

I often wonder how long a designer in Japan would last when he presented something like that to the head engineer at Toyota, about as long as it took to clear his desk.
