I recently broke down due to an overheating radiator. the reservoir was empty.
the garage replaced the heat exchanger at the back of the dashboard. This had been replaced last year when the air con failed and a leak could not be found. The whole system was replaced to repair the aircon.
Since the fix I have done a single motorway journey of 400 miles and the level of liguid in the radiator reservior has dropped from max to min with a drip under the wheel arch.
the garage seems to repair the radiator by replacing it without finding out what caused the leak. do you have any suggestions as to what caused the problem
If you can see the water dripping it could be the water pump that's leaking but it could also be a leaking head gasket pressurising the cooling system and blowing coolant out of the filler cap/overflow pipe.
