Peugeot 807 - Engine management problem - Ronald H
Unblock diesel filter warning the engine management. Light and limp mode.
The filter has been changed and re checked. The fuel additive system has recently been replaced but the problem still occurs , any ideas?

Its possible it could be a faulty fuel filter, assuming that's what you're referring to.

When the additive tank refilled (or pouch replaced) were the counters cleared with thePeugeot specific diagnostic gear?

But even if the additive has been refilled, its possible that the DPF has come to the end of it's life. There are also many other components which need to be running perfectly in order to regenerate - glow plugs, glow plug relay, fuel cap sensor, cooling fan to name but a few.

I manage a map of Pug enthusiats with the Lexia hardware to do this. Find your closest member and they'll do it for the price of a pint or two.

Dirty or faulty EGR valve is the most common fault on these engines this causes LHM .

I don't see a lot of 807s, but do see 307s and 407s (one 407 was my own) with faulty EGR valves and they've not put the car into limp mode.

They just put the warning on screen and there's usually a hesitation when acellerating between 1800-2000rpm, most noticable when going from 2nd to 3rd gear or 3rd to 4th.

" Unblock diesel filter " message on the display is refering to the DPF.

You need to get it attached to a Lexia as Gibbo suggests to make sure there isn't a fault causing the DPF blocking.

If there is no fault the DPF can be cleaned or replaced depending how deep your pocket is.

I'd consider the removal of the DPF altogether, and the reprogramming of the ECU that will need to be done too. There are companies around now that can do this and you'll never have this problem again.

It all depends how this "check for DPF removal" on MOT pans out. Luckily on many Pugs there's no pass-through pipe available and you have to open up the DPF and gut the insides before returning to the car - so if its just visually inspected then the tester will see it.

But a properly maintained car shouldn't have DPF problems. Over the course of its life its fractions of a penny per mile to run. It just has to be factored in as a part that needs replacing, just like a clutch or CAT.

I've seen some companies offer a DPF removal and remap service for £600. You could jJust buy the additive from a parts supplier, a new DPF from CATS2U and get a Lexia owning fellow to reset your counters for well over half that.
