Ford Focus Ghia 2001 1.6 - Could this be the ICV - Markbrid1980

My car sometimes acts as if its hunting for revs. My odb tells me it goes from 700-900. Can feel it revving. Also on idle sometimes it will stay on 900rpm. Its a 2001 Ford Focus 1.6 Ghia.

Does it sound like the ICV?

Cheers

More likely to be a split breather hose to the inlet manifold.Very common on the 1.6 models.

Check the evap purge solenoid isn't cycling at idle. That can also cause a hunting idle.

Give the throttle body a clean too.

And then check all the other usual suspects - ht leads, sparks, pcv pipes, pipe to MAP sensor etc.

A method I used to use to detect air being sucked into vac pipes or gaskets was to ply propane from a soldering torch - if any got sucked in it would raise the revs.

I did give the ICV a quick clean as I had a spare 10 miniutes then ran it for 5 minutes.

This is the results
