Hi - just seeing if anyone recognises these symptoms/can suggest next steps.
Biting point become high on the car. Whilst driving it, the clutch starting to crunch away and the clutch pedal sank, screeching noise followed by me rolling to the side of the road. Engine run sweetly before this, and carried on running without problem (with the exception of screeching clutch failure!). Then switched engine off
AA attending, they put it in gear and tried to start it, the car stalled. He then tried to do the same again and could hear clicking noises - his suggestion is that the battery had gone flat and the starter motor wasn't turning enough.
It was towed home, and subsequently towed to the garage. The mechanic has tried to turn the wheels whilst in gear (5th) and the wheels will not turn and is moving the engine. His suggestion is that it has seized. I find this unrealistic due to how the car was performing over the last year right until I switched the enigne off after the clutch failure (car run great before). When the clutch is depressed the wheels can be turned fine.
So my question is - did the clutch actually go? Seems odd that it can be depressed and it springs back up now. Could parts of the clutch made it's way anywhere and be simply jamming the engine from turning now???
Any answers massively appreciated!!!
