2011 BMW 1 series - Run flats to regular - turkey

2011 BMW 1 series I want to change from run flats to regular. I worry about the low air sensor and having the right tires for the car. I would get one of those flat repair kits that come with a sme geneator and some gunk to seal a flat tire so I could drive a short distance. Or should a get a small (donut) and jack(If best idea) Regular tires(good quality) should last, they feel better on the road and are by far cheaper. I wnat to keep my car(after warranty) and I am trying to find a cheaper way of doing the tire thing, oil changes, repairs.

Any help on these items is greatly appreciated. I live in the Chandler Az area now so HELP if you can.

Since I am at work I will have to come back and check this forum later..but please help..its a good car but after warranty its expensive!!

When I had my 118D I ran non-run flat tyres durin the winter. The car drove just as well and rode far better. All the electronics worked fine, just carried a can of gunge form Wilko's for emergencies, never needed it. Insurance was happy, charged no extra, just noted it.

Before I sold it I intended to change the summer run flats to non-run flats in the same size/ratings. They were little more than 1/2 the price. Checked with insurers (Aviva) and their only condition was all 4 tyres must be the same i.e. you cannot mix run flat and non-run flat.

So just check with your insurers and ensure the tyres have the same ratings and you will be fine.

What does changing tires have to do with insurance? Warranty is over

Nothing to do with warranty.

Insurers require you to tell them if you make any changes to the car, changing form factory fit run-flats to non run-flats is considered to be a modification. Other examples are fitting bigger wheels/tyres, lowering the car, expensive stereo, the list goes on. If you make changes and do not tell them it will give them, the opportunity to refuse to pay for your damage should you have an accident. The assessor who looks at cars would spot any changes and avise your insurers.

Look in the T & C's of your policy and ring your company for clarification, I am not making this up.
